Preschool - Approximately 3 - 5 Year Olds

Our children are seen and respected as individuals who have the right to be cared for in a positive, nurturing and inclusive environment. We promote a child-lead programme where children have the opportunity to take an active role in creating their own learning journey. We implement through our practise the Kiwi Kids Fundamental values of Freedom, Fun and Family.

Freedom

Our children have the freedom to move, to be self expressive and to take risks in our large indoor and outdoor environment with the support and guidance of skilled teachers. Our daily programme allows for flexibility as learning opportunities can appear at any stage of the day and this allows us to follow through with this. Our children have the freedom to make choices and deeper thinking is encouraged through extending on children’s passions and interest’s.

Fun

Our programme allows for our children to learn while having fun and we use our large environment as our teaching tool. Children learn Literary, Mathematical and Scientific concepts through riding bikes, baking biscuits and reading stories while having fun doing so. Our transition to school programme makes the transition to primary school a fun and positive experience, while learning essential skills that will support that move.

Family

We are a family and like a family we are there to support and look after one another. We recognise that every child culture’s and beliefs are different and we support this through our inclusive, understanding environment. We endeavour to involve our families in all parts of our programme through our open door policy and being welcome to join us for birthday celebrations, having fun afternoon teas and family evenings.
