Junior Preschool - Approximately 2 - 3 Years Old

In the junior pre-school we believe that it is important to create an environment of respect where children are nurtured and feel empowered to be independent learners who are capable of making their own decisions.

We aim to provide an environment that is positive, accepting and fair for all and children feel they are celebrated for who they are. We encourage children to work alongside each other and guide children’s behaviour positively by supporting them.

In the junior pre-school we implement the Kiwikids fundamental values of Fun, Freedom and family in all aspects of our practice.

Freedom

We believe children should have the freedom to make their own choices and to actively explore their environment whilst maintaining consistent boundaries. We provide children with the freedom and opportunity to guide their own learning throughout the day as teachers respond to the cues of the children and provide a program that reflects their interests and abilities.

Fun

Fun is measured on the children’s faces when they laugh or smile while engaged in their favourite game or activity or when playing with a special friend. In the junior pre-school our focus is on providing children with many opportunities to have fun and to learn through their own play. Through play children develop many key skills including problem solving, social skills, decision making, use of imagination etc.

Family

We facilitate a sense of family and belonging in the junior pre-school. We are a family of parents, teachers and learners within the centre as a whole and we are supportive of children and their families and we pride our self on our open communication. We respect and accept the differences among ourselves and all those within our Kiwikids family.
